Run, Swim, Cycle – train from Casa La Negra, Periana

The Costa del Sol is the perfect training ground for cyclists, swimmers and runners. The Andalusia area is home to various sporting events suitable for all levels of athlete – whether you are a serious cyclist who wants to test your stamina, or a first time triathlete who fancies taking advantage of the beautiful promenade routes, glorious coastal swims and gentle flats for a fast bike time. 



Come for one of the organised events or set your own triathlon course – we can arrange bike hire, running treks, and advise on the best stretches of coast for open water swimming. For those preferring to bring their own bikes we have locked storage available.

Keen cyclist? Try La Sufrida - 27th May 2017

Cicloruta Internacional Serrania de Ronda or La Sufrida, The Sufferer, as it is aptly know in Spanish, is one of the main cycle endurance races in Andalusia. The event usually takes place on the first Saturday in June (or last Saturday in May) and consists of a 196km circuit called the "Gran Fondo" around the Ronda countryside on tarmac. Since 2006 the event has been organised by a local running club and starts from a different village each year. Typically it starts at 08.00 at the main square in El Gastor. The route takes in many interesting towns including: Zahara de la Sierra, Puerto de las Palomas, El Bosque and Puerto del Boyar, Grazalema, Los Villalones, Arriate, Ronda and Montejaque. The winning time is under 7 hours and the race cut off is 11 hours. The police provide a race security zone. Find out more or register visit their website:

Malaga Marathon 4th December

This event is held every year and we still have availability at Casa La Negra for this week, so if you fancy a marathon in Malaga get in touch quick! Early December in Malaga usually means long sunny days with a light breeze off the Mediterranean. This flat course takes in the recently modernised and picturesque port area and is perfect for achieving great PBs take a look at the route here:
